DOTD: Meat Sauce with Kelp Noodle

The dinner of the day (DOTD) is just something that I make when I run out of ideas and don’t feel like cooking.  Meat Sauce with Kelp Noodle is one of these dinners. This is why I like to have ready made sauces handy. I can just defrost a bag of ground meat, chopped an onion and throw in some pre-washed greens.  Serve it over healthy “noodle” and I’m done.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of ground meat (I use beef for this one)
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Jar of pre made sauce
  • Leafy Greens
  • 1 bag of Kelp Noodles

For those who is not familiar with Kelp Noodle, it is made of mineral rich sea kelp. It doesn’t contain gluten and it is low in carb. You don’t need to cook it, just rinse it and it’s ready to eat. Perfect for a lazy person like me.

Directions:

  • Chop the onion.
  • Heat your oiled skillet and brown your onion.

Browning Onion

  • While the onion is browning, rinse the Kelp Noodle and strain. (If you can’t work fast do this later, just tend to your onion. You don’t want to burn it)

Tips:

Careful not to over cook the greens. You want them to be bright green instead of dark green.
