I found this salmon recipe a while back and made it once. I remember that it was delicious but I never made it again after that. I think it’s because it has more ingredients than I can remember on top of my head. Yes, I have bad memory especially after popping out all those kids. With my go-to recipe, usually I can just make it without looking at the recipes and that’s how I like to cook. So, I modified the recipe to only 5 ingredients and I also took out the gluten. This is my recipe for maple mustard salmon with pecan crust.
Ingredients for Maple Mustard Salmon with Pecan Crust:
- 2 Tbsp of Dijon Mustard
- 1 Tbsp of Maple Syrup (or honey)
- 1/2 Cup of Chopped Pecan
- 1 Tbsp of Ghee (or melted butter)
- 2 Salmon fillets
- Salt and Pepper
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375F
- Lay Salmon fillets on a baking sheet or oven proof plate, and season with salt and pepper.
- Mix mustard and maple syrup, pour it on top of the salmon fillets.
- Mix chopped pecan with ghee (or melted butter) and spread on top of the salmon fillets.
- Bake at 375F for about 10 minutes.
Tips:
I like to use Ghee because I can keep it at room temperature and it is easier for me to use when I need to mix it with something. With butter I need to melt it first, and it means extra time and effort. Yes, I am very stingy with my time 🙂
Enjoy your maple mustard salmon with pecan crust!
